PR Assistant Account Manager/Digital Content Specialist Department: Public Relations

Summary of Position:

Strategic America is looking for a dynamic individual with proven skills in public relations, social media and digital content strategy. This associate will function as a member of a both the PR team and be primary point person between the PR and the interactive teams, developing digital content strategy and assets for SA clients.

This associate will also serve in a capacity as PR assistant account manager, working with integrated client teams to develop and manage integrated marketing campaigns involving traditional, social and digital strategies.

Duties of Position:

  1. Proven working experience in digital content and social media. Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge.
  2. Strong writing skills, both long and short form. Knowledgeable in digital content and blog strategies that positively impact SEO. Create editorial calendars and syndication schedules.
  3. Develop strategy and content creation through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification.
  4. Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action.
  5. Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills.
  6. Work closely with SEO planners and our analytics team to continuously gain insights and execute best practices to improve performance.
  7. Collaborate with other departments (creative, client services, media and analytics) to manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions.
  8. Work effectively in a team setting. Must handle multiple tasks and deadlines. Assist account back-ups and other PR staff.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Three or more years’ experience in the field. Graduation from accredited four-year college or university with major course work in public relations, journalism or communicative arts.
  • Strong writing skills (provide writing samples)
  • Strong understanding and expertise on social media and CMS platforms. Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.  
  • Knowledge of general methods, principles and practices of public relations. General understanding of various methods used in the production and dissemination of written and graphic materials.
  • Proficient use of English punctuation, composition and grammar. Strong factual and creative writing skills.
  • Ethical conduct, initiative, understanding of best business practices and ability to clearly and accurately communicate, both orally and in writing. Willingness to learn and act on Strategic America’s core values and competencies. Must respond appropriately to supervision/coaching, aligning behavior with the needs, priorities and goals of clients and Strategic America.
