We're looking for a public relations pro who will lead PR and content strategies for our business units to drive engagement, build brand awareness and increase share of voice.  We want someone with strong media relations and consulting skills to identify compelling stories and oversee content that can be promoted across multiple channels and digital platforms, including social and news media.

What you’ll do
  • Collaborate with PR agency of record and a talented team of PR and content professionals to develop and implement PR campaigns to promote content and thought leadership and drive positive media coverage and engagement.  
  • Consult regularly with business units to identify and develop newsworthy stories. Use data and insights to create engaging, relevant content. 
  • Act as spokesperson for the company. 
  • Build and deepen relationships with target local, regional, national and global media contacts.  
  • Manage the reputation of the company in both positive and difficult situations. 
  • Create, write and edit content for multiple channels including news releases, social posts, presentations, white papers, blogs, bylined articles, etc.
  • Consult with senior leaders and other spokespeople to position them as key experts and thought leaders through media training, message development, presentation preparation and coaching. 
  • Review, assess, and evaluate media coverage and trends, recommending strategies or technologies as appropriate. 

What we’re looking for
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications…

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus a minimum of 7 years of experience required in public relations, media relations, marketing or journalism.
  • Corporate or agency experience preferred.
  • Experience writing and editing all forms of social and digital platforms required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.
  • Must be adaptable, flexible and able to handle changing priorities.
  • Strong human relations skills and assertiveness required.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills including grammar and presentation skills required.
  • Strong project facilitation and management skills needed.
  • Ability to analyze and organize information and recommend public relations strategies.
  • Proven track record in earning positive placements with news media.
  • Experience partnering with PR agencies.
  • Commitment to dedicating the time needed to get the job done.
  • Provide prompt, courteous and excellent service at an acceptable cost to all customers, operate in an ethical manner in accordance with State and Federal law, the company's Corporate Code of Ethics, Affirmative Action, Diversity, employee handbook, applicable compliance and operations policies and procedures and other policies of the company.
  • Possess a high degree of integrity and actively cooperate and interact with all entities of Principal.
