March Letter from the President

As Warren Buffett once said, “It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently.” Public relations professionals must always be thinking about every possible outcome to a situation. The last thing you want is a crisis on your hands. If that does occur, the manner in which your company responds will impact your organization’s reputation.

Therefore, don’t wait until a crisis hits to put a crisis management plan together. And if you already have crisis management plan, when was the last time you participated in a crisis drill? It won’t do any good in the event of a real crisis if you don’t know how to enact it.
