Digital Marketing Intern - May 2020-May 2021

At Iowa Farm Bureau Federation (IFBF), we are committed to the people, progress, and pride of Iowa. We’re looking for someone who is excited about learning--about our organization, how we do things, and how our work benefits farmers and all Iowans!

What You'll Do:

As our Digital Marketing Intern, you will research and analyze current news, online conversation, trends, and data that IFBF can use to engage online and create content that enhances our brand and/or builds trust in today’s farming practices. You will also assist in developing, scheduling, and updating content for IFBF websites and social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and the Farm Fresh Blog. Additionally, you will assist county Farm Bureaus with their social media outreach.

We also are looking for someone who has fresh ideas that will assist in developing strategic marketing and public relations campaigns for emerging social media platforms, such as Instagram and Snapchat.

What It Takes to Join Our Team:

    • Must be working towards a college degree, with at least a sophomore status, and maintain student status throughout the internship.
    • Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must be detail-oriented, with a commitment to producing quality and consistent work independently.
    • Must be organized, with an ability prioritize time-sensitive assignments.
    • Must be familiar with multiple social media platforms.
    • Should have a desire to grow your own digital skill set.
    • Should have an interest in improving the effectiveness of online content (written and multimedia), using research and data.
    • A background in agriculture is a plus.

Other Details:

    • This internship pays $12/hour.
    • Candidates should be able to start no later than June 1, 2020 and work through the end of the school year in May 2021. While hours are flexible, candidates should be able to work full time during the summer and at least 10 – 15 hours per week (during office hours) during the school year.
    • The intern must be able to commute to our office in West Des Moines. The position requires some travel, weekend and evening hours, and occasional overnight stays.
